    Rob Harris, CEO and Founder

    Rob Harris, founder, President and CEO of Pacific Market International (PMI) is an early pioneer of China and Southeast Asia based contract manufacturing. He started PMI in 1983 with a vision to help American importers find reliable factories in Southeast Asia. His experiences are legendary and have been the subject of numerous articles and talks on subjects ranging from Starting and Growing a Business for Long term Shareholder Value; Principals over Profit; Making Sustainable Business Practices a Priority; China as the World Economic Growth Engine; Ethical Investing in China, and many others. He has opened offices and established operating entities in over eight countries and has distribution experience in over 35 countries.

    Over the last three decades Rob has led the transformation of the company from a trading company in the 80’s, to a product development and manufacturing organization serving Fortune 500 companies in the 90’s, to what it is now today, a global brand marketing and product development organization with over 150 corporate staff in five offices around the globe.

    He orchestrated PMI’s investment in one of the world’s premier injection molders in China, now called PMI/Joinease and has invested personally and corporately in other China based ventures.

    He has served on the boards of numerous privately held for-profit companies and a number of community based not for profit organizations. As of 2011 he focused his outside board work and now serves on the boards of:

    • Jens and Inge Bruun Foundation, Seattle WA
    • ACRS (Asian Counseling and Referral Service), Seattle, WA

    He has 14 years experience mentoring MBA students at Seattle University and holds a Masters Degree in Counseling from Syracuse University. His professional education and early career days as a psycho-therapist at a short term crisis psychiatric hospital have provided him with the sensitivity toward people that has led him to create one of the most dynamic, highly collaborative team oriented middle market brand marketing firms on the west coast.

    Mike Bross, Executive Vice President

    Mike Bross directs corporate-wide sales management and results, and collaborates with the management team on strategic direction. He joined PMI in 1998 as Vice President of Marketing and led the development of its first brand, MiGo, as well as its shift away from private label business to a branded model. Mike was also closely involved with the company’s acquisition and integration of the Aladdin and Stanley brands.

    Mike has worked in consumer product sales, marketing and product development since the 1980s. Over the years, he has been involved with direct selling to nearly every major North American retailer in a wide variety of market channels including department stores, housewares, sporting goods, outdoor, travel, mass market, winter sports, coffee specialty and the web. He has also developed successful sales and marketing organizations in Europe and Asia.

    Earlier in his career, Mike worked for Trager, a manufacturer of casual travel gear, where he oversaw the complete and successful overhaul of the brand including product direction, marketing and sales strategy. At Sims Snowboards he was instrumental in revitalizing the brand worldwide as VP of Sales and Marketing. With JanSport Company in the early 1990s, Mike led the global sales effort that saw revenue increase over 300% during his 5 years at the helm, and saw the brand become the recognized leader in its category.

    Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California and a Masters in Communication Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

    Brian Shea, Chief Financial Officer

    Brian Shea began working with PMI in 2002, where he is in charge of finance, tax, accounting, risk management, management information systems and human resources. Prior to joining PMI, Brian spent six years as the CFO of Medisystems Corporation, a developer and manufacturer of disposable medical devices.

    Brian has extensive international finance experience, serving as CFO during the formation of multiple manufacturing enterprises in China, Mexico, Thailand and Italy, as well as expertise in acquisitions and divestitures. Brian is a licensed CPA and holds a BBA degree in business with an emphasis in accounting and minor in mathematics from the University of San Diego. He is a member of the AICPA.

    Ken Mitchell, Vice President, Marketing & Product Development

    Ken Mitchell had nearly 30 years of experience in Marketing and Product Development prior to joining PMI in 2007. He spent eight years with the Huffy Corporation’s Gerry Baby Products division as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, then for three years was President of Troxel Cycling and Fitness, a leading supplier of bicycle and equestrian helmets. Following this, Ken was Senior Vice President, Lifestyle Products, for Fisher Price. Among his responsibilities during these three years was worldwide licensing.

    For the next six years, Ken was Executive Vice President, Dorel Juvenile Group. He then became a strategic marketing and product development consultant for Funosophy, which serves the toy industry. Ken was a two-term Board Member of the Juvenile Products Manufacturer Association. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University.

    Mary Stenroos, Vice President, Supply Chain Management

    Mary joined PMI in 2008 after 25 years of engineering, quality, operational and supply chain experience. Mary started her career in the automotive industry as a product designer at General Motors. After leaving GM and moving to an automotive Tier 1 supplier, Johnson Controls, she quickly made a career change into operations. Mary’s operational experience progressively increased with transitions from Bosch, to Herman Miller (office furniture) and then to Terex (construction equipment). By the time Mary left Terex to join PMI, she had established international operations in China, Hungary, and the UK. Mary holds dual BS degrees in both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Kettering University.
